At Kane Academy, we believe that every child matters. We have been teaching Martial Arts in the local community for 20 years, and is one of the only disability friendly gyms in the West Yorkshire, Kirklees Area that offers martial arts and disabled exercise classes for special needs children.
During this time we have worked with several children who have additional needs and disabilities.
We have developed a programme of learning with special needs children’s unique learner style in mind, progressing them towards martial arts belt grading.
We absolutely love to see the progress made over time. 3 steps forward and 3 back sometimes then 3 forward and 2 back.

what your child will learn
Balance
This skill is crucial to develop at an early age. Your child is beginning to participate in many physical activities that are challenging, like riding a two-wheel bicycle.
Memory
Developing a good memory is exercise for your child’s brain. Our drills are constantly helping your child think and make smart decisions independently. Starting such exercise early in life will actively help in the development of a better and stronger brain.
Discipline
Our instructors use specialist age appropriate drills to help children learn quickly that discipline is fun and rewarding. Your child will take pride in doing the right thing. They will also follow directions better.
Fitness
It is important for children to understand the importance of being healthy and physically fit. Our exercise program will help your child burn off any excess energy and set them up for a healthy lifestyle.
co-ordination
Many children struggle with coordination. Our specialist programs help even those on the spectrum develop better hand eye coordination. This is a key life skill for every child to have.

Our Super Stars 6 Week Beginner Course is the perfect way for complete beginners to get started at our award-winning martial arts academy.
You will be able to attend two lessons per week which is optimum for learning any sport or activity at the early stages.
We offer an amazing deal and a great way to give a child the gift of martial arts any time of the year.
